Poetry workshop
Of Other Spaces
with poet Simon Pomery
Monday 6 April, 6pm – 9pm
£8/6 conc.
Join poet Simon Pomery for a poetry workshop inspired by the work of Los Carpinteros. Read poems with vivid spatial awareness, and try and access regions of your minds you’ve never been to before. Focusing on poems with a special understanding and investigation of space, you will also look at Euclidians poems by Breton poet Guillevic (1907-1997), and make poems out of the barest of shapes. All levels are welcome! This event is held in partnership with the drawing shed.
Simon Pomery is a poet and musician based in London. His poems have been published in places including the Times Literary Supplement, The White Review, Edinburgh Review, P.N. Review, and Poetry London. The Stream (tall-lighthouse, 2010) was published to acclaim by the TLS and the late Seamus Heaney, who wrote “This augurs well for the Pomery life and literature”.
Simon was the 2013 Poet-in-Residence at MultiMadeira Festival. His ‘Blood Music E.P.’ was released in June 2013 on Diagonal Records, on transparent red vinyl in gold screen-printed PVC sleeve.
