Since Parasol unit opened its door to the public, poetry reading evenings has been a favourite. These exciting and enlivening events have been coordinated by the poet and critic Barry Schwabsky.

Our poetry evenings will continue with Kelvin Corcoran and John Seed on 18 April.

 

Kelvin Corcoran came to prominence with his first book Robin Hood in the Dark Ages in 1985. His New and Selected Poems is now available from Shearsman Books, and he has recently published two pamphlets, Roger Hilton’s Sugar (Leafe Press) and Helen Mania (Poetical Histories), which was made a Poetry Book Society choice in 2005.

 

John Seed is the author of several collections of verse, most recently: Divided into One (Poetical Histories, Cambridge 2003); Pictures from Mayhew. London 1850 and New and Collected Poems (both Shearsman Books, Exeter2005). His work has also appeared in several anthologies.

 

Barry Schwabsky, organizer of the readings series at Parasol Unit, is an American poet and art critic living in London. His Opera: Poems 1981-2002 is published by Meritage Press, and Black Square Editions recently published his pamphlet Tephra.
