Panel discussion
Personal Archaeology
hosted by Hercules Editions
Friday 14 March, 7pm
£6/5 conc.
Personal history is a rich resource for artists, and the poets Sue Rose, Anna Robinson and Hannah Lowe all mine this seam to produce powerful narratives.
Join them in a discussion exploring how they use memory and archive to turn private reminiscence into public statement. The event is hosted by Hercules Editions, publishers of Sue Rose’s ‘Heart Archives’, and chaired by Tamar Yoseloff.
Archives du Coeur, or ‘Heart Archives’, is the name of the book of poems by Sue Rose. Originally inspired by the work of the French artist, Christian Boltanski, and his installation, Archives du Coeur, Ms Rose’s poem cycle extends Boltanski’s work to explore the notion of ‘personal archaeology’, considering the way we create individual archives of photographs, objects, letters, etc.
