Poet Ella Frears will lead a workshop in response to the animated films and drawings of French artist Christine Rebet. During this three-hour session, participants will look at texts by writers who deal with similar themes of history and trickery as well as personal, political and environmental traumas. Drawing on individual and collective histories create new poems that shift and transform, that resist stillness and refuse to be quiet.
Poetry workshops at Parasol unit are produced in collaboration with Poetry School. Founded in 1997, Poetry School is a national arts organisation providing inspiring tuition and opportunities for poets and poetry audiences.
Suitable for 16+, Writers of all levels and styles welcome – no prior experience with poetry necessary.
