Ann Demeester, Director of the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem has decided to rehang highlights from the museum’s permanent collection of Hals paintings and other masters of the Golden Age alongside the works of living artists such as Shezad Dawood and other contemporary artists. By doing this she hopes to demonstrate that today’s artists are still inspired by Hal’s 350-year-old legacy.
