Part of an innovative live poetry series that brings experimental, digital, sound and visual poetry to Parasol unit, inviting artists to perform original works and to collaborate in response to our exhibitions. Praxis is a new series of workshops and events curated by Simon Pomery and Lala Thorpe in association with the Royal Holloway Poetics Research Centre.

Nathan Jones is a poet and curator, was Creative Director at Mercy, a new media group, part of the Syndrome (syn-dro.me) performance programme, and leader of Torque, an ongoing publishing and events programme exploring language in relation to brain and technology.

Emma Hammond’s first collection, tunth-sk, was published in 2011 by Flipped Eye. In addition she has self-published two pamphlets, softly softly catchy monkey and Sleeveless Errand. Her latest book, The Story of No, was published by Penned in the Margins in 2015.

Caspar Heinemann is an artist and writer researching critical mysticism, countercultural mythologies, and queer biosemiotics. They have exhibited internationally and recently completed a dissertation on the poetry of John Wieners and CA Conrad, entitled ‘Fucking Pansies: Queer Poetics, Plant Reproduction, Plant Poetics, Queer Reproduction’. They are currently working on their first book, a pastoral epic poem set in a speculative near-future Thames Estuary.
